Hi,

Using 2.6.4, but was also happening with 2.6.3.

After viewing episode(s), when backing out to the series banners, MediaPortal is crashing - not always on the first time.

I can only reproduce this in MP-TVSeries, so posting here first before reporting as a MePo bug. Logs attached.

Any help with what may be wrong at my end or a fix would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I filled in my system details in my usercp but am not seeing them by my post? Using MePo 1.1.1, XP SP 3. Any more details required, please let me know.

On the system specs - you need to enable it in the profile options (there's a drop box somewhere in the 'Edit your details' page)

Well, I don't really understand whats happening here.

You have lots of errors like this:
    2010-10-19 20:24:49.921875 [ERROR][ExtractVideoThumb(9)]: Could not create thumbnail for \\MORESTORE\Store\Video\TV Series\Black Books\Black Books - S01\Black Books - S01E05 - The Big Lockout.avi
2010-10-19 20:24:49.921875 [ERROR][ExtractVideoThumb(9)]: Exception :confused:ystem.IO.FileNotFoundException: The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070002)
    and also
2010-10-19 20:24:19.453125 [ERROR][ExtractVideoThumb(9)]: Util: Error executing C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MovieThumbnailer\mtn.exe: Process must exit before requested information can be determined.
ExtractVideoThumb is a MP call, and does not come from TVSeries.
TV-Series does pick up file renamed events, those probably come from the thumbextraction that MP is doing. Maybe the fact that all those are happening while a file system watcher is hanging in there is causing problems. But nobody so far seems to have run into this.

If you disable TVSeries (or better yet uninstall it) do you have any error msgs like these in the logs?

There's a reply missing from me thanking SpudR & that I was only finding this with the wide banners view - must have forgotten to post it!

I'll try your suggestions Inker & see, thanks.

    OK, have done some tests.

1 - Disabled TV-Series, navigated around videos, no thumbnail errors, no crash.
2 - Re-enabled TV-Series, navigated around the plugin, noticed that mtn.exe only seems to trigger when a video plays, got no thumbnail errors in the log, but still got the crash.
3 - Removed TV-Series, navigated around videos, no thumbnail errors, no crash.

So at least it is not only triggered by the thumbnailing errors, but I have yet to see it happening whilst testing if a thumbnail has not had to be generated.

What else can I try to see if this can be resolved?

    Thanks.

Well, the only thing I see is that the last line always seems to be "Disabling native autoplay."
But you say it only happens with wide-banners. That shouldnt make a diff. if the autoplay thing is to blame.

What actually happens....do you get a dialog stating MP has stopped working? Where do you get the mscorwks.dll from? From what I understand this is the CLR itself and should never crash, if we cause something to crash, it should crash in either our own code or one of the BCL libraries, but not the CLR itself. So I'm puzzled.

    Hi Inker,

MediaPortal becomes unresponsive as I navigate back to the series wide banners screen, then a bit of disk activity & then the crash to desktop - error screen shots attached. Any ideas? Anything else I can try/provide to help?

We discussed this a bit but aren't sure. However if it is the autoplay thingy, it should also trigger by simple entering and exiting tv-series. Can you pls try this a few times and see if you get a crash too.

Please note: even if we can confirm this is the issue, we don't have a solution atm. This particular call doesn't seem to cause any problems for anyone else, so its a bit weird.
