Hi,

I have search high and low for answer here and on the wiki.
Have been running a single seat install upgraded to 1.1.1 for a while and TV works fine.

I have two other laptops that I now want to trial as MP clients. one is vista one is win 7 starter.
I installed MP1.1.1 on both and in config set the host name for the tv server.

But on both laptops it takes ages for MP to start and ages when I click on TV only to get a blue screen (default skin) for ages (an I eventually haveto end task MP.

What am I missing ?
I get this in the error.log:

2010-10-09 19:18:31.966103 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: TVHome: Error in Reload
2010-10-09 19:18:31.974103 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: Exception :Error: DatabaseUnavailableUnclassified
Gentle.Common.GentleException: The database backend (provider SQLServer) could not be reached.
....

full MP client Logs are attached.
Note I know the TV server works as I can use it in singles seat mode.
Do I have to do anything else to the client/server to go from a single to multi seat?

Happy to do more testing / reading if someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks
Ben

    Hi there,

Make sure the TV Plugin/Client has installed ok. Check the Gentle config file has the correct DB settings specified (ie MS SQL or MySQL, and the correct hostname/ip and password) - These are also in your error log file

If I was a betting man... I'd say you haven't configured MS SQL Express to allow for remote connections ;)

Enable Remote Connection on SQL Server 2008 Express | Linglom's blog
How to: Configure Express to accept remote connections - SQL Server Express WebLog - Site Home - MSDN Blogs

    Thanks,

    J.
