Haveing some problems with the way TVServer handles channels clear on one source but scrambled on another.
I run the follwing cards fed by the following sources.
PVR-500 (A) SVHS Input - Sky STB full subscription
PVR-500 (B) SVHS Input - Sky STB FreeSat Card (Decrypt UK Channel 4 and Five)
TechnoTrend S2-3200 - Astra 2A/2B/2D, Eurobird FTA Channels
The technotrend is a recent addition, prior to introducting this card I ran with the two Sky STB's and had setup these as external channels within TVServer.
The full set of sky channels is mapped to card 1 and grouped to a Sky group, a subset (the FTA + C4 and Five) mapped to card 2 and the groupe FreeSat.
I then added the Technotrend completed a full scan, this found 300+ channels. A majority of these are scrambled and can not be viewed which is fine, only interested in the FTA channles and BBC HD.
All looked good until I tried to access any of the channels that were identified as scambled and that the channel name in MP matched the channel name found during scanning.
The net result is that these channles are maked as scambled, even though they are valid of 1 or maybe both of the PVR cards, and I them prevented from seeing them 'cant start timeshifting, channel scambled'
I had a poke around in the DB and found that a seperate row is created channel/provider in TuningDetail contining all the tuning info and it's freetoair status.
The problem seems to come from the channel table, this also has a freetoair field, this is updated during scanning, overriding and existing value, this seems to be what is used when deciding if a channel can be view not the freetoair field on TuningDetail table which is the field that holds the ture freetoair state for that channel from that source/provider.
Is this a bug, design flaw or expected behaviour?
I can get round this easily enough by some direct modification of the DB so it's not a major issue to me currently and I also relise that I might be one of a limited number with this sort of setup/problem, would be intrested in if anyone else has a similar setup/issue.
Cheers
