    Hi

Does MP support multiple artists within the 'artist' ID3 tag?

If so does it use ID3V2 2.3 which uses '/' to seperate, or does it use ID3V2 2.4 which uses null character to seperate?

Does it support other ways of naming / seperating mutliple artists within the ID3 tag?

If not I hope that mediaportal 2 has considered multiple values in artist tag files.

Yes, it does. Simply separate the entries with a semi colon ";".

    e.g.: The Rolling Stones;B.B. King

Using MPTagThat as an editor iIt'll be stored in the ID3 Tag as '/' (2.3) or separated by null char (2.4).
When scanning the share we separate accordingly, so the same song will be found under "The Rolling Stones" and "B.B. King".

Same applies for AlbumArtist and the other person related fields, like e.g. Composer

Sorry for not being clear enough: Just use the ";" as a separator.
In the file it'll be transformd to "/" or null.

This is why we had troubles with AC/DC being returned as 2 artists AC and DC.

    no, was talking about MP.
You could use MPTagThat or WMP, don't know how other editors handle multiple artists, to separate artists/albumartists/composer by a semicolon.

The MediaPortal Tagreader recognises this and splits them up correctly again.
