Searched the other areas, couldn't find another feature or suggestion that resembled this.
I think it would be useful for MediaPortal to have a "My Alerts" or "My Messages" clearinghouse, as sort of a utility class that mediaportal and installed plugins could have access to in order to send messages to a listing on the main screen. Some examples of messages I could see people wanting to add:
"New Content added from ______" (for plugins that do web content such as RSS)
"Show ______ recorded" (This would need to be configurable for those who record lots of shows)
"New Email received"
"Channel Configuration changed"
"Process ______ completed" (for long-running background programs, might be especially useful for process plugins that would like a minimal amount of user notification upon completion)
