Thanks for the advices, but mostly already implemented: The whole system is an AMD Proc (45W) a 780G Board with 4GB (~20W), FloppyDTV (~15W) and 10(!) HDDs (~75W) + efficiency losses of the PCU What is consuming the most are the continously running HDDs as WHS is constantly accessing and shuffling files (typical MS Server behaviour) which can not be controlled. The WHS runs with LightsOut and wakes up when a client is present, combined with a scheduling for the MP TV Server. Usually it is on Standby when no client is present (7W) but requires still ~1min to be fully operational. Shifting older files to an additional server/NAS would mean additional power for the basic system operations. So this makes only sense if I can get it alive if I start running a file from thisdevice -> WOL required before file access and therefore somehow to be initiated by the plugin. Cheers, Raytestrak: I was also amazed about the power consumption, but made sense when checking the individual specs and verified via power measuring of the whole system. How did you included the files on your server: via drive letter or via UNC? Because my Vista is not accessing drives which are not available during boot up (I attached them via drive letter to have the opportunity to relocate them w/o rebuild) Iwerndly: Is there a possibility to easily change the drive-Letter to a UNC w/o rebuilding the DB? It would cost me now several days just to rebuild the DB
