Maybe I didn't explain it well. JMMServer was supposed to be the only program using port 8111. For some reason, it appears that a system (TCPView calls it "System") process binds to 8111 on behalf of JMMServer. At least Zone Alarm works, but a quick search shows that it isn't supported on Windows Servers. Not sure what flavor your running, but just in case someone else doesn't/can't run ZoneAlarm these 3 rules should work with the built-in advanced firewall settings: Open JMMServer TCP any Open JMMServer UDP any Open any TCP 8111 As to why it does this...not sure...All I know is that this was my troubleshooting steps: Using TCPView, before I launch JMMServer, UDP 4556 and TCP 8111 are not used. After I launch JMMServer, UDP 4556 binds to JMMServer on the IPv4 Stack. TCP 8111 binds to System on the IPv6 Stack. When I shut down JMMServer, UDP 4556 and TCP 8111 are closed. After that, I plugged in the third rule above, and it worked. I never went back and changed the other two rules (one would think that since JMMServer doesn't bind, the first rule doesn't apply). I know this fixes problems when using JMMDesktop. I have no idea if this does anything for the Media Portal Plugin.
