Hi

This is my first HTPC, I built it out of an old Foxconn e-bot PC that I found in the basement, it has 20Gb hard disc, 512Mb Ram, and a GeForce Fx5200 graphics card.

I am running just the standard MP, no added plug-ins.

There is 14Tb of Hard Disk space, and a ZapStream remote control. The PC is connected to a Monitor Switch which changes the picture between my flat screen monitor (in my cupboard) and the 50" plasma mounted into the wall.

The small screen is for db editing and ripping new dvds and cds, The PC is connected through a 100Mbps switch and onto my wireless router.

The hard discs are external USB 2.0 devices connected via USB 2.0 hubs (x2)

The audio output is from the standard PC '97 ?? audio out into the aux of the philips 5.1 system.

Behind the sofa in the room is a unit that is vented along the front (Similar to the radiator covers in one of the pics, only made of wood)

The TV module is not running yet - NO tv card.

No problems - apart from a little slow loading

All the wires for speakers etc run through the basement under the room (thats also where I will expand my my storage)

I dont have any problems with fan noise etc, cos everything is hidden away in the cupboards or in the basement.

Now that my wife has seen it running, she is willing for me to spend some £'s getting some better hardware, tv tuner etc. for the mk2 version

Please excuse the mess - still doing a lot of work in the house!!

The gap at the top, above the TV is for a perspex analogue clock, aboutt 1.5' square. Im currently building a module that will show the time in a digital format through it, as well as what channel the tv is on, current movie title etc - basically all the stuff u guys display on the LCD on the front of your HTPC - this will be for my mk2 htpc
