I am adding new movies to the database very often, and after some time I forget about them. So the day I want to watch a movie I have to search thru the whole database to find my latest movies.

So it would be nice if I could sort by date.

Is there hope for my request?

    I assume that you'Re talking bout the MyVideo function and not the MyDVD's database right??

    well, i'm not aware of your version of MP, but there already is such a feature. in the MyVideo screen just press the "sort by" (at least is assume it's called sort by i don't have the englisch respect. your language in use) button and you have among others these options:

    1) sort by year, wich would just bring the newest movies to the top

    2) sort by date, wich result in the situation that the newest filed on your HD shown in descendent order from top (newest thus). i think that's what ya looking for?

    you are correct,,I have the latest version.. rc3, not any cvs.
    Checking for sort by date... Yes, there it is,,I must have looked in the wrong place. very very strange I could not see thiss... :oops:

    But It would not work,, to sort by date was like sorting by name.
    Sort by rating dont work either.. it just unsorted it.
    Could this be becouse I copied the database from rc2 instalation into rc3?

    i'm not sure id there are any changes of the movie database from RC2 to RC3, anyway. i made a clean start with RC3 including rebuilding all databases etc. so this maybe the solution. i rechecked it and for me it's working.

    oh, i see it's ALMOST working (-; ... there are some movies mixed up, e.g. there is one from 07/03 one from 11/03 and another from 07/03.. this is wiered. i checked them all now, and there are all more or less in the right Date-order. maby you should really consider rebuilding the database or just wait for someone to reply with more knowledge than me (-;

    I going to gravedig this thread. I have the same situation. I like to see the most recently added movies at the top. I want to be able to do this while I am pulling from the database and not in shares view because it is much faster. I find that when I sort by date while in library mode, it does nothing.
