    Steps to reproduce:-

    1. Start MediaPortal and select My Music
    2. Select an album to play, and select a track to start playing - nothing happens (no sound, no visualisation, nothing)
    3. Wait ~ 30 seconds and click on the same track again - MediaPortal immediately aborts...

    Here is the relevant section of my MediaPortal.log file, with the error messages highlighted in red :-

    Can anyone give me a clue as to what the error messages might mean?

    My Music has worked fine for me up until this CVS version, and all I did was uninstall .NET Framework v1, install .NET Framework v2.0 and apply the CVS 11-10-2005--00-21.

    I am surprised that I seem to be the only one that has experienced this error.....:(

    I can confirm that this problem still occurs with CVS 11-10-2005--23-04.

    I have just applied the latest CVS (12-05-2005--23-09) and there is partial success....:)

    The first time that I enter My Music (from a fresh launch of MP), I can select and play an MP3 track. However, if I stop the playing and exit My Music and then re-enter My Music(without doing anything else), it will no longer play any tracks. MediaPortal does not exit or freeze, it just will not play any MP3 files....:(

    Here is the section of the MediaPortal.log file showing the first access to My Music where I was able to successfully play a track:-

    6/12/2005 9:22:46 PM key:13 0xD (2)
    6/12/2005 9:22:46 PM PlaylistPlayer.Play(D:\Music\Blues\Corey Harris and Henry Butler - Vu-Du Menz\01 - Let 'em Roll.mp3)

    And here is the section of MediaPortal when I re-entered My Music and tried a second time to play the same track:-

    6/12/2005 9:23:31 PM key:13 0xD (2)
    6/12/2005 9:23:31 PM PlaylistPlayer.Play(D:\Music\Blues\Corey Harris and Henry Butler - Vu-Du Menz\01 - Let 'em Roll.mp3)

    6/12/2005 9:23:31 PM g_Player.Play(D:\Music\Blues\Corey Harris and Henry Butler - Vu-Du Menz\01 - Let 'em Roll.mp3)
    6/12/2005 9:23:31 PM OnMessage exception:property set of 'uiMode' cannot be invoked at this time.
    6/12/2005 9:23:31 PM g_Player.Process() player stopped...
    6/12/2005 9:23:31 PM g_Player.Stop()

    Notice the error mesage in red - I have no idea what that means, but it seems to be the reason that MP will not play the MP3 file :confused:

    this seems to be a very strange problem. i know that some users have the same issue. i have tested the CVS-Snapshot: 12-07-2005--23-04 on to PCs but i cant reproduce it. i have followed the steps you have posted. below are the systemspec and the logs of one of my testPCs.

    Yes, for some strange reason, this problem only effects some users, but I can't figure out what is peculiar about my setup that produces the problem...:(

    I get the same symptoms and the same error message when I try to play more than one movie trailer too (in My Trailers). So, it would seem that there is something in common between those two applications that gives some of us these problems....

    I would love to know what this error message means, as I am sure that there is a clue in there?

    6/12/2005 9:23:31 PM OnMessage exception:property set of 'uiMode' cannot be invoked at this time.

    I will try a more recent CVS to see if that fixes the issue....:)

    Now this is really weird - I just tried to reproduce the problem so I could submit some system log files - and I can't make the problem occur!

    I can't make it occur within My Music, nor within My Trailers - the problem has magically cured itself....:oops:

    I can't recall making any changes today (and the problem has plagued me all day) that would explain why I can no longer reproduce it - except that I did re-boot my PC about an hour ago.....maybe that was the fix?....:confused:
