Hi,

I assume that many people take also videos with their digital cameras. So when you upload the pictures to your harddrive, also the videos are placed in the same folder as the pictures. So the videos are in the right context.

But with MP basic setup when viewing "My Pictures", MP only displays the pictures. Is it possible to view also the videos?

And ofr me most of the videos are in Quicktime.

Thanks!

Try to add the filetype in picture settings section. They will appear in MP, but I cant guarantee that they will play tho.

Yep, I tried that. But as you mentioned the .mov files only showed up to the list. And MP does not play them.

I have installed Quicktime Alternative, so the codecs should be ok.

Does anyone know any workaround for this?

Should this feature be noted and added to future software improvements?

:D

A way to do it would be to move the movie files to a dir called 'camera' and add it in my videos. Assuming the files can launch from there.

Thanks for the ideas.

But if you but the pictures to another folder. You have to change the to folder to it, when you want to view those videos.

The basic functionality should be that all the pictures and videos that are in the same folder should be viewed in the order which they were taken.

This way the pictures and videos are in right timeline and context.

Hakuna: Sorry to hear that there has not been any progress on this matter. Have you solved this issue somehow?

this has been requested quite a few time.
The main trouble is that there are a lot of features that have been requested a lot of times as well as a number of bugs that need to be fixed. Unfortuneatly there are only a small number of developers, who also have their own real lives.

If there is anyone who can make the changes and upload a patch, I'm sure a dev would be happy to implement (after the test team tests it) but time really is the issue here.

It's a feature that I would really like to see as well.

Has there been any discussion about a polling system where users could vote for the features that they feel are important?

Because it seems like many users are interested also on these particular feature. So there most many other features too.

I'm all new to this whole open source development enviroment and it's schemes. So I'm trying to figure it out how it all fits together.

    :D :)

Sorry, but the digital photos/videos just piles up on the disc, rarely watch them...
But at least I backup every now and then!
I should just remember to move the backup to another house...

Some time ago i made a modified version of MyPictures though i am not sure it still works 100%.
Nevertheless i attached the compiled "MyPictures.dll" and the sources, so if anyone is interested to complete/fix it feel free to do so ;)
For installation just drop the "MyPictures.dll" in the plugins folder of mp and add the video extensions.
It will appear as "MyPictures (extended)" in the plugins config and replaces the "MyPictures" plugin in MP
