This has always been a problem.

My pictures is set to display thumbnails. When entering a folder for the first time, it starts building each thumbnail. This is awfully slow! One second per picture, doing the same in external programs such as acdsee or other is way way way faster.

Pictures size averages 1-2MB.

Can't this be improved? Can't building thumbnails be made much faster?
Thanks a lot for who ever can have a look at this, this is painful when showing off your MP to friends and their first reaction is that it's damn slow :-(

This is not a bug!

But just FYI, MP will be switching to using the tumbs.db file after the next release.
Hence no requirement for creating new thumbs etc.
