hi,

i recently moved my media PC interstate... this created a few headaches in MP, most of which i've been able to resolve. however, my recordings are now a bit of a mess... essentially i had to retune all the tv channels, and so this has left a bunch of past recordings in no man's land. i believe i can resolve this by editing the recordings database and assigning a channel id? if this is so, can someone explain this in a bit more details please? if not, how can i fix these past recordings?

also, i've been experiencing a bit of a bug... i have my recordings folder setup as D:\recordings, however, about 30% of the time recordings revert back to the default directory C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\recordings. this isn't a real drama, but i've just moved those recordings to the D: location, meaning i need to fix up the location of these recordings in the database too.

i take it this is the location for the database i should edit: C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\database, and this is the file "TVDatabaseV21.db3"? can someone recommend a free tool in order to do this? i saw sql lite was recommended in another thread.

cheers for any tips,

dh.

I've never tried it myself, but you could try the import feature. Start TV Server Config. Go to Recording. Go to the Database Import tab. Point it to your D:\recordings folder. See if anything shows up in the list. If so, import them. If things are really screwed up and all over the place, you could copy them all to a temp folder, use MP to delete all recordings. Copy the temp folder back, then import them all. Just an idea for you.
As for it sometimes recording in a different folder, check that all of your tuners are pointing to D:\recordings. You have to manually select each tuner and look at the folder setting for it.

    thanks for the feedback alank!

i've been able to clean up 99% of my recordings.

i didn't realise i could choose a different recordings folder for each of my tuners (i actually only have 1, but it's a dual card), so i'm optimistic that everything will drop into D:\recordings in future.

also, i moved all the recordings from C: and D: into a temporary folder as suggested, then went into the MP interface, and chose "Clean Up" and removed everything (this also had the side-effect of removing folders which weren't populating with episodes since the move interstate).

and, then used the import feature in TV Server Config, and almost everything imported back fine (even the older recordings!).

    so, i'm very happy.

    cheers,
