Is MySQL installed on the PC?

There's no hope of "test" succeeding unless MySQL is installed, and you've entered the correct connection details. Usually the MediaPortal installer will install and configure MySQL for you, but if you cancelled the installation then that process may have been interrupted. You may have to install MySQL for yourself... or you may just have to restart the PC to get the MySQL process to start.
