Hi all,

Since updating to MP 0.2.3.0 RC1, Myblaster no longer works. I can train blaster.exe and test OK, but as soon as I close blaster.exe it seems to 'forget' the IR codes.
When I select an external channel now, the channel switches to the TV card AV in, but does not select the channel on the set-top box as it has no IR codes sored.
I've tried learning different length keypresses, different order, etc. Also tried deleting myblaster.dat (so blaster.exe could generate a new one). A new myblaster.dat was generated, but still codes not remembered.
Suggestions? Maybe time to try MCE Replacement Plugin?

Thanks, Deco.

Hi Deco, I've seen the same thing. I updated to MP0.2.3RC1 yesterday and for the life of my I couldn't get it to blast channel changes to the settop box. It seems to learn the codes fine, but when you reopen blaster.exe the codes aren't there - I don't know if this is normal or not, but it looks like it isn't remembering them.

I also tried copying the myblaster.dat file from the old version (0.2.1) but that didn't helped. It ain't a hardware issue because as soon as I run the old version it blasts fine.. so it is something about the configuration I have or it might be the release itself?

I also remember having a similar problem when installing 0.2.1 - it wouldn't blast, but all of a sudden it started working. I had assumed there was something I needed to setup to make it work - but given you've got the smae problem maybe it is the new release?

Cheers,
Paul.

Thanks Spragleknas!

I'm blasting to the STB again. And I've got to say that the MCE Replacement Plugin is impressive!

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback MrPaulo and Spragleknas.

I tried the MCE Replacement Plugin last night and it works a treat for blasting. However, MediaPortal picks up 2 button presses when using it for MCE remote (I'm using a Logitech Harmony 688 in MCE mode) i.e. lists, TV guide, etc. move 2 positions at a time. This is with MediaPortal MCE remote disabled (of course!). Changing delay times up to 1000ms (either or both) does not remedy.

If I use MCE Replacement Plugin just for blasting and MediaPortal for MCE remote, all works well, but it would be nice to use MCE Replacement Plugin for all.

Note that I am using normal remote driver, not MCE replacement driver (thinking: if it's not broken, don't fix it!!).

Anyway, this is just nitpicking, all is working well :D

OK, fixed my 'double signal' issue (after some random forum browsing, found under General Support).

How to:
1. Start MP Configuration
2. Disable/untick "Use Microsoft MCE remote ... "
3. Open MCE Replacement plugin configuration
4. Enable/tick "Enable MCE remote"
5. Click on "Map MCE Buttons" button
4. Click on "Remove replacement driver mappings" & click "OK"

That's it, now works perfectly for me! Apparently installing the MCE replacement driver also fixes this problem (presumably because the 'replacement drive mappings' are now relevant!).

Thanks again to all,

Deco.

Thanks Deco - I too had the double button problem. The TV Guide etc jumped two channels on a button press. I had to turn off the MCE Replacement remote and it worked OK. But - after following your instructions I have it working with the MCE replacement plugin.

Cheers,
Paul.

Hey,

I just wanted to say thanks too... I had the same initial problem after upgrading to the 0.2.3RC1 candidate version. MyBlaster just stopped working. I followed the instructions and am now channel changing happily again using the MCE replacement plugin. It's an impressive piece of work, thanks again to and-81, also Spragleknas for the tips.
