mysql setup database connection (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I want to use MediaPortal 1.0.2 with a MySQL Database.
It works wenn i use the user root. I will not use this user for security reasons.
With other users it doesn`t work. Do you have any idea how to change the user. I created one with all rights for a new schemata with my MySQL Administrator.

It is the first time i use a forum, i hope i did everything right.

Well, MP needs to create a DB, Tables and possibly drop them at some time. If those permissions are correct AND you're mediaportal-sql-user is using a password then it should work.

Just post your tv.log after tvservice/setuptv is unable to start.

while doing the setup for the database connection i don't have a tv.log. It appeares a pop up

Connection failed!
Access denied for user 'mediatv'@'%'' to database 'mysql'

I gave all rights to the user mediatv.

Before i did a full installation but i didn't found a way to change the MediaPortal user.

Well the error is clear - what do you want to know?
Your user "mediatv" does NOT have access rights from any host to the mysql database.

how can i give my user mediatv access rights?
I tryed a connection with my MySQL Browser and this connection works.

i gave only all rights for the schemata.
I didn't know that there are Global rights for the user.
Now it is possible to install the TV server.
Do you know witch MySQL (global and schemata) rights are required for Media portal.
All components are running on one PC.
