I'm using build Rev16036 and I have a problem with playing mpeg2 files. MP keeps using MPEG-2 demultiplexer -> MPA/MPV decoder according to graphedit. Whatever mpeg2 decoder I select in configuration (powerdvd, ffdshow) doesn't make a difference. Also no postprocessing takes place. I don't have these problems with playing dvd, h264 or other movie formats.

    Hi,
For dvd related stuff it uses dvd codecs settings (like daemon mounted files(iso's) & dvd's ripped to disk), for others like mpg etc it uses the movies codecs settings, maybe thats what you see?

    Regards

    I use these settings:

    DVD-DVD codec:
    video codec: cyberlink (powerdvd)
    postprocessing: ffdshow

    Movies-Movie player:
    mpeg2: cyberlink
    h.264: cyberlink
    postprocessing: ffdshow

Everything's fine except for mpeg2 movies.. it keeps using mpv codec while mpv is nowhere configured.
DVD files are decoded by cyberlink and other movie formats by ffdshow.

I did a test with graphedit. I connnected to MP(?) and could see the graph of the current mpeg2 movie being played. It was using mpv/mpa. Then I opened an other mpeg2 file(Render mediafile) and it showed a graph which used ffdshow for video decoding. I could stop the original mpeg2 file started from MP and start the other one which was using ffdshow (guess selected based on merrit). ffdshow was playing the other mpeg2 with no problem.

    Hi,
Yeah i think i know why, it detects it as TV & use that settings instead of the others.
For now i think it has to be like that but will ask...

Hi Roy. You're right! When I enable TV Post Processing then this is indeed done when I play my mpeg2 files in MyVideos folders.

I don't know what I should think about this.. it solves my post processing problem, but it's confusing.
Also, the mpeg2 decoder setting in Movies/Movie Player doesn't make any sense. It's not used.

    Hi,
Well the settings works for other mpg files like my old collection of music videos, the new one i have made with MP uses TV codecs settings. Agree abit confusing but usually you use the same for both atleast thats what giving me the best results anyway ;)

I tested some of my old music videos with graphedit and it showed that mp was using mpeg-2 decoder setting to play the mpeg-1 file. Perhaps mpeg-2 decoder setting should be renamed to old mpeg-1 music video setting? :)
