Navigation a la Vista (1 Viewer)

Hello
I played a bit with Vista MC and its music navigation was quite nice! Basicly you move sideways in upper part of screen to choose betwin artist, album, year etc and then just press down a step to choose for example witch artist (if you selected artist in the uper part). Any other also liking the Vista approach?

MP is great, however things can allways be improved. As said I think Vista MCE has a better design. Suppose many hera has seen it but anyway - here is a screenshot from Vistas music part. The pros is:
A bigger overviev of your list (more efficient way of filling the screen)
Easyier to see and change in whitch "view-mode" you are in.
A "cleaner" and more intuitive interface

By the way - I dont like the way MP makes differenc betwin "sort" and "view" - just confusing for a ordinary user. In my opinion one setting would be enough, more configurations could instead be done inside the setup.

As far as I know this is already on the way with the new skinning engine and WPF integration this will all be possible.

Then why not buy Vista and use Vista.

MP should be just MP, and not look like another Microsoft clone. For that reason I never liked the MCE skin.

I agree with the first part, but the customization of MP is half the fun/benefit: if people prefer MCE's interface, wouldn't you rather they use MP with a skin than give Microsoft money?

MS is always a toutchy subject....... Im a long time user of MCE 2005 and recently moved over to MP - they both have their advantages. In many ways I consider MP superiour, hovever the look and feel of MCE is more genuine and "better". Hovever there are two parts about Vista MCE in this discusion:
1. The skin
As said its very mutch up to each person what to like, I newer liked the green parts in the MCE skin. Hovever I think Vista is realy nice. Its both nice and clean and with fantastic animations! Therefore I hope we will have more of that things in MP, for example constantly "moving" background and glowing / highlightable buttons. The skin can always be made as an option - I have started myself but it turnd out to not be so easy....
2. The interface
MS has there drawbacks but one thing they often are good at is design. Personaly I think the startpage in Vista MCE isnt that great but the music layout I think is FANTASTIC. Therefore its that I wanted to show (and hope many others will like so maybe we have it hear in MP some day).
