Hi,

I have a fair amount of MP3's, 10-15 000, sorted in folders - totally logically according to me.
All of them are correctly tagged, except in the folder "Not tagged yet..".

All mp3's are not named according to the same name standard:
Single songs: Artist - Song.mp3,
Album songs: Artist\Album\Track# - Song.mp3
Collections/Various artists: Collection name\Track# - Artist - Song.mp3

Example of my structure:

[MediaPortal Music Root]\Albums & Songs\Depeche Mode\Exciter\
01 - Dream on.mp3
02 - Shine.mp3
...

[MediaPortal Music Root]\Soundtracks\Soundtrack - Amelie From Montmartre\
01 - Yann Tiersen - J'Y Suis Jamais Allé.mp3
02 - Yann Tiersen - Les Jours Tristes (Instrumental).mp3
...

[MediaPortal Music Root]\Collections\Absolute Dance 01\
01 - Snap - Rhythm Is A Dancer.mp3
02 - Dr. Alban - One Love.mp3
...

Now, if I use the Music Database I still haven't found any possibility to use ONLY the folder structure and the file names, without creating separate views for every change in folder structure. I want the navigation to follow the folder structure and I want the songs displayed with the full file name (without the .mp3 extension).

Is there any way to get around this problem and still have the option to view folder structure and file names exactly as they are?
Just display the folder name and then the file name - just like it's done with an totally empty database. I really don't want anything else.

The solution for now is to delete the music database, let MediaPortal create a new empty one and then mark it as read-only. Then everything works the way I want, but unfortunately every song change/selection takes 20-30 seconds since MediaPortal tries to update the read-only database I assume.
