i am a total noob to this wonderful piece of software so please be a little patient!
i have the lateset media portal and use a 4200+ with a 2400pro i also use a hauppaugge remote control.
my problem is i only watch x264 files as in hd rips so usually use media player classic with ffdshow, halli and ac3 filter, but when i select mpc as my external player it wont accept any commands from my remote so i am in need of a external player as equal as mpc that will let me at least stop whatever file im watching and get back to mp.
i have tried using mp and its own player but it never works right even though i have added the right codecs in the movie settings!
i would use the pm player if i ciuld get it to work with the same settings as mpc.
