MediaPortal Version: 1.1.2
MediaPortal Skin: StreamedMP 1.4.9
Windows Version: 7, 64bit
Remote: Logitech Harmony 9xx, via EventGhost/MessagePlugin
A little background can be found here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-support-51/list-keyboard-key-codes-not-shortcuts-7161/
I'm having basically the same problem. Here's what I'm trying to accomplish:
If I'm looking at a listing in the TVSeries plugin, I can press the "0" (zero) key on the keyboard to open a context menu for deleting the currently selected show (not the actual "Context Menu", but the menu you'd get by opening the real context menu, choosing "Actions", then "Delete"). That's just what I want, except I want to make it work from the remote.
I have no trouble getting the remote button press all the way into MP/MessagePlugin (I can prove this by mapping the button to, for instance, open the real context menu and play a sound, which works fine). But what I want is to make that remote button press emulate pressing the "0" key on the keyboard.
I assume all I need to do is change the mapping action from "Context Menu" (for example) to "Key Press" and enter some magical numbers in the "Key" fields. But what the hell are the magical numbers? The poster in the referenced thread (as well as a few other threads I found) has the same question and doesn't appear to have received any real answer. Does anyone know? These are the same fields used in all the remote control mapping dialogs, so I assume they all use the same magical numbers.
I've tried entering 48 in the first field (second left blank) as this is ASCII code and virtual keycode for "0", but that doesn't work. I have no idea what the second field is used for. The MP wiki is noticeably quiet on the topic. Can anyone shed some light on this? Please?
