Hi.

Depend on which version are you using.

if you are running version 1.0.2 or older, the only way that really worked for me is to configure it in FDDSHOW.

so go to windows, start, programs -> fddshow -> fddshow video configuration -> Subtitles, and check it.

Now go to Font, click Autosize, and go to Size body, and move the bar between 26 and 32 usually is good enough size).
Go to VOBSub and check Enable.

accept everything to exit, and try now.

That part is may be obvious, but just in case it is not: if you have movie that is called: my_movie.avi rename the sub to my_movie.srt in the same folder and Vobsub will autoload it with the movie.

If you are using version 1.1.0 beta, there is an integrated subtitler FAR better, because it can be actived/deactived with the remote control :D , I will love to tell you how, but you will have to wait until I was able to make MP work again in my machine, because it refuses badly

please tell me what version are you using, if you are using 1.1.0 beta, give me a couple of days that I solve my MP problem and tell you how.
