Hello all. I am new here. I really like what I have read/seen of Media Portal and will definitely download it. However, I see that my NVidia Dual MCE TV card (comes with MCE remote) is not supported...can anyone help me out, please?? I just got this dual tv tuner expecting to use it with Windows MCE, but I really like that MP is very good and also very freeeeee...

NVTV Dual tuner is listed on the supported list (bottom link) isn't this the same one?

I've asked this in the IRC channel and I got confirmation that it is the same card. If there are issues with the card there are plenty of members here to help.

I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered this weekend before I get my HTPC running.

I'd say try to install the latest drivers for the dualTV card and it should work. Again, I have never configured MP or anything like it so I can't give you a 100% solution just yet if the Nvidia DualTV isn't working out of the box.

So I guess that is confirmation that the card is supported, if others have it (at least as reported in IRC). Even if it isn't supported yet, there are the links to get it supported.

And even if MP doesn't recognise it, here are the probleom solving steps to take.
    1) does the card work properly with its native software? This will rule out any MP issues if it doesn't.
    2) what happens when you try to add it to MP? Try the configuration app, not the wizard and see what happens when you "Add Card"

Hey. I appreciate the help with this.

I still can't get MP to even recognize my tuner in the configuratin app, where there is a box (which should have a listing of the tuner, but doesn't) to select the card and say, "Add Card."

I see the "XFX NVidia DualTV" at the bottom of the support list, but I'm pretty sure it's not the same as my card--I could def be wrong, tho.

Here is a link to my card: http://www.nvidia.com/page/dualtv_product_specs.html

I tried updating the drivers and things for it, but it still doesn't get recognized by MP.

Also tried using GraphEdit to get the filters and monikers and things, and it doesn't have what the first two steps say to find...in order for them to add it to the support listing.

    nettech_gt,

NVIDIA only sells them on their website ATM. I have not seen them sold anywhere but the NVIDIA store online.

I finally got mine yesterday but I'm wating for a new BIOS chip to arrive so i can FINALLY install MP :)

    natrlhy,

Whatever I keep doing, MP keeps saying, "No TV Tuner card installed." I see you are almost ready to install MP and use the same card, so I look forward to reading what steps you take.

Again, I do not think that our card is supported, but I really hope I'm wrong.

    Peace

    AlgidRush,

Not sure what to tell you at this point. I will post detailed instructions of the steps I go through with my NVIDIA DualTV installation.

I'd just make sure that you have removed any other analog TV tuner cards and drivers, ensure you have the drivers installed.

If you have a way of testing the card/driver installation through another piece of software that could begin ruling out any other issues with the installation of the DualTV and drivers...

Are you running the 0.2.0.0 build with the 0.2.0.4 patch installed?
