Okay here are a few questions I have:

    1) Can MP be setup on a true Client/Server basis for stored videos? As in, one PC holds all videos on its hard drives, and runs MP. Other PCs see it's videos and IMDB info automatically from the media PC? I know I can set network shares in the video database and then have each "client" run its own IMDB database, but that would get very tedious with keeping all those databases up to date. I have tried the "Media Server" plugin, but have failed to get it to work after hours of trying.

    2) Is there a way to use my video capture card to view an external TV/Cable box? I don't currently have any TV/DVB cards and don't see how I could even use one seeing as how my cable provider makes me use their equipment. So basically I want to have MP show what my video capture input is (my cable box)

    3) I am a Skype developer and would like to find some way to integrate it into MP's telephony features, has anyone heard of anyone else working on this?

Thank you in advance for any help on these matters. I am new to MP but and really enjoying it so far. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

    Hi there and welcome :)

    1. There's people using the centralized database with success, however it is not really a supported setup. No other options that I am aware of.

    2. I think you will need a tuner card to view the TV. If I understand correctly, you have a Set Top Box. Maybe you can route your STB to a tuner card and have MP control it via IRSS. IRSS is a remote plugin that also support blasting IR codes to your STB.

    3. See here. In post #29 you will read that the plugin-dev actually is looking for someone to take over.

Greeting Rek! Thanks for the reply. I am about to set up a centralized database today. I had feared as much about the tuner card. I have a REALLY nice Digital Video Capture card with 4 separate HDMI inputs that cost me alot and was hoping to use it. Windows & works well with it, but there is no way to display my DVC card in MP =( bummer... I am looking into the Skypeabilty of MP this weekend.. I am excited for a new pet project! The thread you pointed me in to read post #29, now has 30 posts =)

Thanks again for such a quick, accurate and very helpful reply!!
