I did a new install of Mediaportal and Moving Pictures on my new HTPC. Moving pictues installs fine, imported my movies correctly, but after a reboot, moving pictures seems to think the share the movies are on is offline (when opening the moving pictures configuration), although it's not.

I'm on Windows 7 HP x64, Mediaportal 1.1.3 and Moving pictures 1.1.2:1219.

In the log file, there's a line:
19-Mar-2011 18:12:53 Info [ MovieImporter]: Failed watching: 'N:\Movies\Films' (NoRootDirectory) - Path is currently offline.

I'm pretty shure that the path is online, I can browse to it in Windows, and the icon next to the share in Windows Explorer doesn't have a red X on it. I tried recreating the share, using a dns name or IP address, but there's no change.

Anyone has a suggestion? Logfile is included!

Try using the UNC pathname direct, for example \\Server\Share

UNC path is always better anyways, I have never had a problem doing it that way.

Thanks for your replies. Is there a way to change the location from M:\movies\films to \\server\nas\movies\films?

    Is it a known bug?

When you add sources just navigate to the network location instead of the mapped drive

Mapped drives never have worked right, so just dont use em.

I have used moving pictures for a long time (think years) and have never had an issue using mapped drives. That being said, I am in a domain environment and the drives are mapped in the logon script.

    Hi tomvdduin,
I have exactly the same issue as you - movies appear in red within the movie manager as MP thinks the path does not exist. This must be a bug with NAS drives as the USB ones are fine. are you using a Western Digital NAS by any chance?
