Ok, so I just got a new build. Here are the specs.

It is a slim case.
i3-550
4gb ram
1tb hard drive
Graphics has a integrated HDMI output on the motherboard.
Power Supply is a 250 Watt.

I will be putting it on a 37" 1080p HDTV.

I will be playing a lot of SD content.

Should I upgrade to a discrete graphics card or keep the integrated. Remember it must be a half height card.

I do not want to upgrade the 250 watt power supply.

My goal is to get the best picture i can with SD content.

I am also interested in a tv tuner that works well with basic cable.

Thanks!

I'm using an HD4250 integrated and it's fine for SD content (like you I have very little HD to put through the TV at the moment). Assuming the integrated graphics is of a similar power I think you'll be fine. I'd certainly say try it and add a discrete card later if you find the integrated graphics are not up to scratch.
