Hello!
I just want to introduce my htpc. It's the first htpc that i have built and now after a couple of weeks it's nearly complete.
Hardware:
Case: Silverstone LC-17 Black
Power Supply: Silverstone SST-ST30NF
Mainboard: Asus M2N-E
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 4850e
CPU Cooling: Scythe Ninja Mini SCMNJ-1000
Case Fan: 2x Sharkoon Silent Eagle 1000
Memory: Kingston HyperX DIMM 2 GB DDR2-800 Kit
Graphics Card: Asus EAH3650 SILENT MAGIC/HTDP
Audio: OnBoard ADI 1988 8-channel
Hard Drive: Samsung SpinPoint F1 500GB
CD/DVD Drive: Asus Quiet Track DVD/RW
Remote Control: Microsoft MCE Remote
Keyboard/Mouse: Microsoft MCE Keyboard
Wlan: Some MSI W-WLAN Card
Other: A sound damping kit
Software:
OS: Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 3
HTPC Software: Mediaportal 1.0.1
Codec: Combined Comunity Codec Pack and Power DVD 8
Remoteadministration: Remote desktop software that is integrated in Windows XP
Currently the htpc is connected to a crt-monitor via the s-vhs output, but with the blue3 skin everything is readable and looks really great.
Tempratures:
My htpc system is nearly completly fanless except the two Sharkoon fans. At first I was a little bit afraid of the reviews that I have read about the Sharkoon fans,
because in nearly every review they pointed out that they are very silent but have a really bad performance. But after testing them for a while i think that they are
working very well. I will post a screenshot of a monitoring software below, so that you all can see which temperatures my system is producing.
To do list:
Maybe I will switch the motherboard with one that has a 780G chipset and an hdmi output, but before that I have to buy a new TV! ;-)
Furthermore I'am currently working on a front/backend solution. I already bought an old pc on ebay which should work as a server in the future.
I hope my english is good enough so that everyone is able to understand.
