Hey all,

I work as a C# developer for a living and would like to help out. I think MP has the potential to be spectacular, and I would like to help it get there. Programming for multimedia is probably the second most difficult to gaming, so it would be good for my own development as a programmer, plus maybe I can give a little back to the MP community in the process. I have never worked on an Open Source project before, since so few of them that are of interest to me are C#.

MP is great; it's the little glitches that I'd like to try to fix. If someone could perhaps IM me and help me get started with getting the source code, setting up the solutions, source control, etc., it would be much appreciated.

By the way, the programming I do for my job is much more mundane than this type of project, meaning I don't have experience with multimedia programming. So it will be a stretching experience for me; hopefully a good one.

My AIM is the plural version of my forum handle.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi and Welcome,

please take a look at these pages, which contain general infos on coding.
    https://www.team-mediaportal.com/contribute_to_mediaportal.html

How to get the source code.
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/MediaPortalDevelopment/MediaPortalSVN

    How to compile.

Just grab the source code, supply a patch on sourceforge and you will get attention. :)
Help is always much appreciated. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask. You may join us on IRC (be aware of the timezones, many MP devs live in europe).

    Flip.
