I use a mce remote without any addetional software. Othersthat are supported directly by mp should work aswell. Open mediaportal config, go to remotes and then to the tab of your remote. Than click on Mapping or for X10/Hauppauge on Learn. There you can brwose to the button you like to use and add a new condition and add the command for e.g. red button.
