hello first post here and a total newb on the subject of media streaming.

i just downloaded and installed media portal on an older dell pc with a tv tuner card and my ultimate goal is to be able to not only stream live digital cable (not hd) broadcast over my lan to other tvs an pc's in the house to avoid paying $15 a month each for additional cable boxes but to also make it available remotely to andriod devices. one android device is dlna enabled but that only works on the lan.

does anyone know of a client for android that will play streaming videos that will work with media portal? ive seen some that have there own server programs and dont think they can do live broadcasts. is it possible to accomplish this live? or will it need to be time shifted? and would a remote client (android or pc) have the ability to change the channel? or am i limited to the programmed channel on the server pc?

thanks in advance to anyone that can point me towards the information that i need. i dont need anything fancy like 5.1 or hd content.:D
