Hello ,

Here is a link to it ( Angel PCI at Lumanate )

Now I am running Windows XP Home ED SP3 compleatly updated

I have installed Mediaportal

The website for that card seems ambiguous. It doesn't list onboard mpeg encoder in the specs, but lists the card description as mpeg. Maybe it relies on a software encoder.

Run the TV Server config, & see if the tuner is listed. If it is, run a channel scan. If it isn't, the card isn't supported.

You shouldn't need anything else, if it's a supported card.

Check the manual tab at the top for further instructions if you need them.

Hello & Thank You for the reply ,

Okay , I ran the Tv Server Config Tool

    It has 2 in it

One is the (Microsoft SQL Server) and the other is (My SQL Server 5) Both are asking for a password and neither will let me do a channel search !!

Okay you have to remember please that this is my first attempt to do this and I have never attempted this type od programing or software befor , I am just doing it because I had to take my TV to my mothers for hers died , I have a 32 inch Tv for my monitor :) and this is why I would like to do this , just make my computer system do everything multimedia or at least try to see if it will ? It should ?

I am going to look at the instructions for Mediaportal and see what it says !!

I even hooked the Cable Tv coaxil up to the card and nothing / nadda / zip !! My luck :(

When Installing the card I wasn't ask to input a password / But I do have a password on my user account ?

If you have any other Ideas please let me know!!

I am thinking of just buying another TV card .

Any good ideas on a good one to use ?

Also would it be easier if I put Windows Vista Ultimate on my system / I do have it just sitting here on disk . That would also mean having to add more ram to my system and most likely hold me back fron getting a new TV card to which is the one of the reason I havent put Vista on my system yet / but then I guess I could take a chance for a card at Ebay, but then I am not a fan of windows Media Center .... Main reason I am putting Mediaportal on my Xp system !!

Wow I am a Rambler / lol / just the way I get when it concerns my system and with typing my thoughts are going right in this post / lol

The TVServer needs to connect to the SQL server that was setup during installation of MP. During install did you install MySQL, or MSSQL?

Depending on which one you installed, the login is different.

If it's MySQL, the user name should be root, & the password would be MediaPortal.
