Ongoing New to MediaPortal first Setup (1 Viewer)

Okay, I have decided to try to turn my extra system into a media centre.
Mostly because my xbox (origional) isn't handling HD content well. Especially on my anime.

What I would like to do - ?? but I am guessing my tv is if I am watching tv.
Is there a way when you go into my video it just shows your folders.

Then I can select -if I want to go into kids movies, movies, Tv Shows, Cartoons and Anime.

Is there a way that my tv shows, my anime and cartoons can be listed on one screen and which episodes I have. Otherwise I will have a huge list with 298 episodes just for one piece.

I have found that my dvd covers are being cut off when they are displayed in filmstrip. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi Drakonas and welcome to MP

I think I understand what you are looking for.
In MediaPortal configuration, where you specify all the folders you want to be available in "MyVideos" the setup program will place a tick in the check box of the last folder you added. The tick means MP will always open that folder. If you remove all the ticks, then MP MyVideos will list all those folders when you first go into it.
Of course, this will only be the case if your default view is "shares". If it's something else, then you will get a list of everything, as this comes from the database.

Yes that helps heaps with that problem. Currently I am running Vista MCE now - as MediaPortal wouldn't recognize my tv card and seem to have issues with the remote control with it. Unfortunely, I do plan to purchase a stand alone remote, but for now I am stuck with the one that comes with Gigabyte GT-PTV-TAF-RH rev 2.0. If anyone has any ideas on how I get that to work, I defiantly would rather stick with mediaportal over mce.
