New user... seem to find channels but black screen (1 Viewer)

Hi!


I just installed Media Portal. It looks great, but I cannot see any TV. Although the system seems to find channels, the screen is black when I choose MyTV. And I have assigned all channels found to the card.

My card is a PCTV 100e (USB2).

The card is also working properly with the software from Pinnacle.

Any idea?

You have now posted the support template, but it is missing important information - what audio and video codecs are you using?

What version of TV card and video card drivers are you using?

What things have you already tried, in order to fix this issue?

There is clearly something wrong with your setup, and we need you to describe it to us, so we have some idea of what to suggest.... :?

This is a bit of a wild guess, can you go into configuration\radio\stations and just check that for stations, there are no boxes ticked.
After that, are you using pretty much mediaportal defaults !

Missing informmation

My TV card is a PCTV 100e (USB2)

How can I check what kind of codecs I'm using?
I uses computers a lot, but as you can understand - I'm not good with hardware and software and things like that.

Paranoid Delusion:
I have checked... no radio channels are listed. I do not have any pissibility to connect radio to my card.

Hope to hear from any of you... I would love to start using Media Portal!

Open Mediaportal setup - click on television and the codecs in use will be listed on top page.
To change codec, hit the dropdown meny. Try using the Mpeg2dec filter first.

I have now tried to use all of the codecs in the list.

Right now I've chosen Mpeg2dec
Mpeg/AC3/DTS/LPCM/ Audio Decoder is chosen as audiocodec

Deinterlaced mode: None
All TV-channel boxes are checked
