At long last our new Wiki is available! Read the full article: New Wiki Public Beta Test

Sorry we are a bit late starting the beta test, however, we are actually much further along than we had planned. Our new wiki skin is mostly complete, our vBulletin (Forum) authentication is working (we just have to get it to automatically add your email address) and documentation for MediaPortal 1.2.0 has already begun. So we are actually a couple weeks ahead of schedule. :p

The purpose of the beta is to get your feedback and test the many new features.

What we really need is a few good people to thoroughly test the process of adding content to the new wiki, and all the new features, help pages etc. Once we get your feedback and refine the process, the beta will end and everyone will be able to contribute to our new wiki.

    WIKI TESTERS

    Anyone willing to test should:
    1. Log in to the Wiki using your forum user name and password (top right of the screen like in the new website)
    2. Add your email address under Tools > My Preferences
    3. Contact Dadeo via Private Message, or post in this thread offering to be a Wiki tester.
Please don't request access unless you are willing to test every feature thoroughly and report back any problems or suggestions. Both Dadeo and Diebagger will be available in IRC for questions or you can post them in the Website/Forum/Wiki Feedback forum.

    WIKI SUGGESTIONS

Your feedback and suggestions are welcome! Even if you do not 'sign up' as a Wiki Tester.

    1. Open a new thread in the Website/Forum/Wiki Feedback forum.
    2. Assign the prefix [Wiki]
If it is possible to easily add your suggestion to the new Wiki, we will post a POLL so everyone can vote. The features/requests with the most votes will become our priority!

This is just the beginning. The countdown has begun, get aboard, or get left behind!

EDIT: Some users are not yet able to access the new Wiki - DNS servers can take a while to update, you can try flushing your DNS, use another DNS server, or just wait. Reboot worked for me!

Really impressive work guys. There is so much information, pictures, explanations. I can't imagine how many hours you spent, but I can say thank you.
Thanks for your hard work, especially new users are now able to look everything up and also experienced can learn a lot. The design is clean and stylish, the navigation self explaining and the new search sounds very interesting.
Keep it up, you'r doing great. :)

Simple pilehave - because we do not know if everything is working well yet. Would you release a skin without beta testing? And just make a mess? I think not!

So we need to do two things first -
    1. Check that all the features of the wiki are actually working properly. There are so many new features and we need to let users know about them and test them. We will be providing regular blogs about the features starting soon.
    2. More importantly, the entire process of contributing to, and maintaining, the wiki has not been tested. We are still developing this process based on the feedback from those willing to test. We did not want to just do it and say this is what you have to do, we wanted to include everyone in the development process.
So the bottom line is it won't be ready until that is done. :p

How is the test progressing? The Wiki is quite full of errors at the moment, and I'm all ready to fix it...
