New Win 7 install - working well except remote (1 Viewer)

Just rebuilt PC, going from Vista to 7.

Allworking well, and a little bit faster than Vista. Easier than i thought too. All my old apps work, including MP 1.0.2.

I have a Hauppage MCE remote with green button, my tv buttons etc.

Only half the functions on the remote work (NOT pause, my tv, back - the ones i really use a lot).

From what i recall with my old Vista config, i just called my remote a MCE remote, and cos it emulates MCE (although its a hauppauge) it worked well. Now it doesn't.


Do i need to load new drivers? Any suggestions

1.0.2 doesn't support Windows 7, only 1.1.0 Alpha and later will support it. The MCE remote issue is fixed in 1.1.0 Alpha.

Seems funny to me that all my other programs work (some of which probably have tight integration with OS), MP works - all expect for a few features on the remote. mmm. So close, yet so far.

Is the anything i can do to get remote working.......love 7. Do i need to invest in new one?

WAF factor high at mo, so budget approval shouldn't be a problem - don't make me go back to Vista. Feels like i just got out of a really bad relationship, and now i have a hot new GF!.

Either update MediaPortal to 1.1.0 ALPHA + latest SVN (pretty stable, but still not recommended to anything else than testing use) or test with DLL that can be found in https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/bugreports-74/mce-remote-windows-7-mediaportal-not-working-66483/

Just did a Windows 7 (TV client only) install with latest SVN. So far running like a dream. Using MCE remote.

hey, i see you've got a 2200 - have you been able to tune UHF Prime? Is there a trick to this?

Installing IRServerSuite will also get the remote working with MP 1.0.2 in Windows 7

DLL all the way. IR suite also worked, but requires another app to install and run in taskbar.

Next objective is the allow TGB to start MP - should be too hard.

MP and 7 is very solid combo, slick and fast, even on beta os.

hey Geoff,
I've put the DLL in the MP folder and the remote works (almost) perfectly.
the only thing i found (so far) that is not working, is to start the MP from the desktop by using the green START button on the remote.
I installed mptray, but it didn't help.
any ideas?
