Newb with some questions concerning WHS 2011 (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone, I am new to mediaportal and have a few questions regarding WHS 2011. I have been using a Popcorn Hour A200(I think) for the last couple of years and am just sick of all the issues I have been having with it. So I decided to build a WMC computer to replace it. I will have my parts in the next couple of days. I am going to be using W7 Home Premium with mediaportal and have a few questions about how it will interact with my server.

Can mediaportal stream from WHS 2011 and have there been any issues with this?
Will I lose any functionality of mediaportal by just using my server to stream?

I have a rather large collection of Blurays and DVDs on my server and I don't want to store them on my WMC PC. My movie/tv folder is about 5.5TB in size.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I stream movies from WHS Ver 1 with no problem at all. I don't think WHS 2011 will have any problems either. I use a Netgear gigabyte routher but my WHS is only 10/100 with WD green TB drives. There is no stuttering. I have both avi's and Mkv files types.
