Hi. Just installed MP for the first time and it's great! I have one problem though,
I don't know which DVB-T card to buy for my laptop.

I have:-
Toshiba Satellite Laptop
Pentium 4 2.5Ghz Processor
512 Mb RAM
Nvidea GeForce4 420G 32Mb With TV Out
200Gb+ Available Hard Disk Space
All running on Win XP SP2

It would be great if i could get a USB 2.0 DVB-T card to work with this setup, but i have heard that a 2.8Ghz Processor is required for a USB card.

I don't really want to use a PCMCIA card as it would mean having to sell my WiFi card which takes up all the space

I live in the UK so i will want to watch UK freeview.

Also the laptop i am using will be used at the same time for downloading etc. This means the card shouldn't be too processor intensive.

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply. I've had a look at the website u suggested as i have a firewire connection. I noticed though that the firewire DVB-T box needs it's own power cable. I already have a seperate external storage box running off of it's own power cable and my laptop also has one. I don't want another power cable trailing along my floor :D

A USB DVB-T card would be the tidyest solution, but do they really require a lot of processing power?

I'd be surprised if a 2.8GHz processor is required. I use a Freecom USB DVB-T on my laptop which isn't nearly as well specced as yours and it works fine. Allowed me to watch the World Cup with stealth at work :D

Note though, that my laptop isn't my HTPC and the Freecom is one of those rare beasts that isn't supported by MediaPortal so some more research will need to be carried out.
