Hello and welcome Rick :) MP can be forced to do what you want but it won't be as smooth a setup as what you've described for BTV, because MP was not designed with blaster/STB setups in mind. The normal MP setup process is to configure your tuner, scan for channels, organise the channels, sort out a guide data source, then setup your schedules. However, you can't scan for channels with a blaster/STB setup such as yours. That means you need another way to create your channels. Aside from scanning, the only other way to create channels in MP is to do it manually. That is doable... but extremely time consuming. People in your position usually sign up for a SchedulesDirect guide service trial and install the SchedulesDirect TV Server plugin. Reason: you can feed the SD plugin with your zip code; in turn the plugin can create all your channels as required. That saves having to create those channels manually. The problem for you is that it sounds like your cable box is connected to the HVR-1800 via an RF/coax cable, and the SD plugin doesn't support that configuration. So, do you have any other connection options? Regards, mm
