News problem (1 Viewer)

I have set up several news feeds, all of which work fine: Google, Yahoo, Rolling Stone... I am trying to add any feed from http://www.huffingtonpost.com/syndication/ . I get an error saying that MP can not download the latest news. The feeds for this site work fine in Thunderbird on the same machine. The site uses Feedburner, don't know if that is the problem.

I am using V0.2.3.0.

Did you change the encoding from windows-1252 to UTF-8? It looks like that's what the feeds you linked to use.

Thanks jburnette. I tried switching the encoding with no luck. Any other ideas, I am an RSS noob.

What feed specifically are you trying to add from that list? The reason I ask is that some of those links to the feeds don't take you directly to the xml based feed. The politics feed for example takes you to this version: http://feeds.huffingtonpost.com/HP/Politics but you would actually need to use this one for MediaPortal: http://feeds.huffingtonpost.com/HP/Politics?format=xml

I did try the one you suggested as well as an alternate link buried in the header of the page. Both work fine in Firefox/Thunderbird but not in MP. I see from the code that the feed is atom+xml. Maybe this is not supported in MP.

It seems the news plugin does not get Atom news feeds from Google either. It is fine with RSS from Google though.
