Hi Guys,

I built myseld a new system and everything installs fine. I've configured MP and at the weekend I had it playing films and music quite the think....

I went to pop on a movie last night and for some reason theres no sound in MP at all now

I've checked with media player and the movies play no problem as does the music, but just not with media portal! Grrr.

I'm hoping that there's a 'quick fix' here and I've just missed something obvious!

    ========================================================
It's difficult to keep my systems posted correctly as I have five units I work with.
    I suppose I could have five nyms@TMP; but that's no good__:mad:__:mad:__:mad:
    ========================================================

I just installed the Auzentech HDA Digital X Mystique 7.1 Gold sound card.
I now have audio problems as follows:

    1) No sound with video
    2) Music will not start until I hit Ctrl+Alt+Del
___It then starts immediately, before Task Manager even launches
    3) Music will start immediately if I set Player to "internal dshow player"; but no sound
    4) Eventually forces a reboot to get any audio back on this system

I have bounced codecs allover the place

All files play / behave normal in other apps.

I was hoping to roll this system out this weekend

Got a keyboard connected, with MP running press start key twice, this leaves taskbar open, now go to systray sound icon and open the mixer, you should find MP muted or sound lowered.

Too overcome this happening see here.

    PD,

Mixer was at 40%, slid it to 100%, still no audio.
    I'll give the 3RVX a try after I get a little shuteye:rolleyes:

What's with the music file behaviour?

I just installed the Auzentech HDA Digital X Mystique 7.1 Gold sound card.
I now have audio problems as follows:

Have you disabled the old audio, this most probably needs doing in the BIOS, the problem may be if you already had the Operating system installed, that the old audio is still set as the default sound device, make sure that auzentech is now default.

    PD,

Yes, I first disabled OB audio. I did finally get the Music files (mp3) to play without hesitation by setting the sound card to Digital Output.
At least that's what I think did the trick, ATP, even with my methodical approach, I just am uncertain.
My movies still play without audio... with the exception of 3:10 to Yuma__:mad: I mean

3:10 is a BD rip, down-converted to VOB, but I have other similar rips of BD's that obviously don't have audio.
( I have since put BD in the real of a not ready for primetime, lowtech annoyance novelty, kinda like cellphones in the '90's)

I have now disabled MovingPictures and enabled MyFilms (tighter integration with DVD Profiler)

Again, all files play without a hitch under various other apps.

    I've tried no basic home, B3, B3W.
My next step will be to remove :)growl::mad::mad:) my newly acquired and precious Auzentech 7.1 sound card.
This will be a temporary check for audio.

    At this point I ain't gotta clue ~~ ~~ ~~

I have made most every conceivable setting to no avail.
(just not every conceivable combination of settings ;) )

Any of you Auzentech creatures (I know you're out there!) have a clue????
