First time media portal user, but expericend self employed computer service technician.

On my personal HTPC, I have not been able to setup my TV tuner with Media portal.

The TV Server Config lists my HVR- 1250 as an 885. I know this is correct because this is not the card number itself, but a number accociated with the chip.

I have an HDTV antenna running to the machine and there should be about 8 DTV channels (ATSC, I live in a rural area).

After scanning channels nothing is found. I should have 7.1 and 7.2 coming in realley strong, but the server software says: No signal!!!!!

PLEASE HELP!!!!

UPDATE: I now have els showing up in media portal, but they still don't show any audio or video.

However, no channels show up in the TV sever config, nor have they ever.

Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi and welcome

Don't worry about channels not showing video/audio in TV server config (preview) - it requires semi-technical codec knowledge to get that working. Focus on MediaPortal. I suspect you may not have set your codec preferences:

    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...nfiguration/9_Codecs_and_Renderer/1_TV_Codecs

That is critical because codecs are loosely responsible for decoding the audio and video. Without them, it just won't work.

SOLVED: Not a codec issue. I bought the TV card in another system from dell. Transfered it to my HTPC and tried to load the most current Hauggpauge drivers, but apparently this card required older drivers, or the dell specific OEM drivers.
