no dts surround (1 Viewer)

There is dts sound with surround etc when I play my video file in vlc, but when I play it in mediaportal its only stereo sound. The dts amplifier has a light that goes on when you play dts but it doesnt come on when playing the file in mediaportal. (streamedmp mymovies). Codec is ffdshow, is this supposed to work with ffdshow or do i need a h.264 codec like SAF ?

We need more info.....

How is your Amp connected to your HTPC? (via SPDIF?)

What is your ffdshow audio config (on the output page)? If passhtru ticked for DTS?

If not, try ticking it - This will then pass DTS straight thru without any conversion.
