I'm having some problems with getting dxva to work on live tv. In DVD and video's (1080p mkv's) it seems to work (<15% cpu usage).
But when I watch live tv cpu usage raises to 50-65%, especially when watching hdtv (1080i). The cpu usage should allot less right?

Graphstudio shows that the correct codecs are used (cyberlink 9). Via video pin out properties I check if dvxa is enable: at bicompression it should say "(dxva)", but there it says "(YUY2)". So I think dxva isn't working. When I do the same check when playing a 1080p mkv, graphstudio says dxva is enable (at the bicompression property). ( i read this at this thread: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...rs-55/how-tell-whether-dxva-being-used-79573/ in the 3rd post)

How can I enable dxva for live tv?

    Attached a log

Hi you need to google utility dxvachecker and run it. It will show if bicompresdion yuy2? Is supported with dxva at 1080i. If it is, ill bet it is in use, but your 4200 card is unerposered for 1080i. 1080p is much easier.

Thanx for the info. Gonna check out the dxva checker, now I know what to look for.

Silly thing is that my previous videocard (Radeon 4350) didn't have these problems. Maybe it's time to revert back to that graphicscard (or combine them :) )

4350 more powerful when it comes to hdtv decodind. Especially 1080i. It also has some drawbacks, for example adaptive deinterlacing in full hd format.
