No Episodes/Seasons are displayed on a new database (1 Viewer)

So I finally managed to import a couple of series and get them displaying correctly in the "details" tab of the configuration menu.

They also appear correctly in the "TV Series" section of MP: I can see the appropriate banners and descriptions for each series.

However, when I select any banner to try to watch the series, instead of the seasons view or list of episodes, I just get a screen with the overall series description again and a grey box with like a little blue egg with a cross through it in the top right corner where the cover art should be, and... that's it. I can't get to a list of episodes, I can't get anything to play. Nothing. I can bring up the side menu options to change view settings and so on, but nothing else.

I was using MP-TVSeries 1.0, but have updated to the latest build to see if that helped. It didn't. I've also got the latest MP SVN and StreamedMP, but I've tried several other skins as well. I'm using the Microsoft MCE remote (which seems to work fine in all other areas of MP).

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Right. I should have thought to do that. Sorry.

Here's a screenshot of the screen I get to if I click on one of the banners for my imported local TV series:

I can't do anything from this screen. The play, OK, forward, back buttons do nothing. I can access the side menu for display settings, as I said, but can't see any way to actually play the series or even bring up a list of episodes.

Zip file of log after I opened MP, tried to play a TV series and then quit is also attached.

Thanks.

Im aware of this issue, seems to be a bug with the latest SVN when you start off with a clean database.

    Workaround for now is:

    1. Delete your old database
    2. Install the last SVN release
    3. Import your data
    4. Upgrade again to the latest SVN

    That should work.

Hopefully we will resolve this issue soon and release another test release ASAP

yes I would like to +1 this bug. Being a first time user of TvSeries I didn't know if it was something I misconfigured or was actually a bug. The episodes list for a series only shows up when I do a manual import of each episode in the tvseries config plugin.

Hi, the same error here. In the database the columns for count and
unwatched for the season are 0 for all new imports.

Ok. Thanks. It's working perfectly now.

I gotta say, now I've got Moving Pictures, My TVSeries, Music folders and pictures configured, I am really impressed with MP. More importantly, my wife is impressed too (this was always going to be a hard sale!)

One thing, though - after reinstalling MP, the SVN builds and StreamedMP, I lost all my settings and, more annoyingly, my movie info and art links in moving pictures. I did the renaming the MP back-up folder thing, but am still having to go through re-updating everything.

Is there a way I can retrieve my old Moving Pictures database or - more importantly - stop this happening in the future?

A new TVSeries build is out, Downloads - mptvseries - Google Code

It fixes the issue with the episodes/seasons not displaying in the GUI.

Note: its recommended that you clear the database (or newly added episodes) and re-import

I cleared my database ... and now I don't have any episode images AT ALL :)

Only cleared the database though, left the episode images in my ProgramData folder. Should I delete those as well?

All you should need to do is re-import after clearing your database.
