Total newbie here -- but I don't think of myself as completely inept, so I'm baffled I haven't figured this out.

I can't get mediaportal to display anything on my TV, no menu screen, no videos, no TV channels. Everything looks/works fine on my computer monitor -- it's just not showing up on the video input on my TV.

I'm running an AMD Athalon 64 3200 processor, Radeon X1300 Graphics card and Hauppage PVR-350. I'm running a line out to my TV from the Hauppage using a reguar three pronged RCA A/V cable.

I think everything is hooked up okay, and for what it's worth the crappy WinTV2000 software that came with the Hauppage card seems to send a signal to the TV just fine. So what's going on with media portal is kind of baffling.

Thanks in advance.

The connection to your TV should come from the video out on the X1300 and not from the PVR-350. You may need a different cable and/or adaptor for the video card?

    HTH ...

Okay, I may have to look into another cable, but I have been running an s-video cable from the output of Radeon X1300 to the input on the Hauppage on the asumption that would let me export the signal. Is there a way to configure the hauppage to make that work?

I have a Radeon S-Video output for component cables but I'd really rather not bother with that - it would be a pain in my a$$.

Why are you doing that ...

Why not just run the s-video cable from the output of the Radeon X1300 directly to the s-video input of your TV?

Well, basically I was trying to find some sort of work around because the TV I want to use MP with is older and doesn't have component or S-Video inputs. I think I can figure it out, though. I just have to buy a cord that converts an S-Video signal into a regular yellow RCA video input. If that doesn't work, I'll really be stumped.

But thanks for all your help.
