I have been using Media Portal for over a year now, and it has been performing flawlessly... Recently I purchased a Onkyo Receiver to complete my setup 
Before the Onkyo, I had the 1/8" going from the GREEN audio out port on the HTPC to RCA L/R on the TV. When in Media Portal every button press on the remote would get that small click noise on the TV.
Once I got the Onkyo hooked up (via Optical Cable)... The Menu Sounds in MP are gone... UNLESS I start a video/tv show, then go back to the guide/movie list, then the menu "clicks" will be there... (with the video playing in the lower left)
I think it has something to do with there being no audio transmitted, the signal "times out" and goes to some sort of auto mute mode... (Not sure if this is a MP, Vista, or Onkyo issue)
Has anyone seen this, or have a fix for it?
