No mouse control on DVD menus? (1 Viewer)

Brand new user to MP. Using 1.1 beta. My main input currently is my mouse. So I primarily use the controls that appear when you hover over the top of the screen. When on the menu of a ripped DVD these controls disappear. So I have no way to stop or go back. I can right click and say previous window. But then I get stuck on that screen because the menu is still playing in the corner and the controls are still missing. Is there a way to navigate on DVD menus that I'm not seeing?
