hi,

i try to watch some movies i recoded with NERO DIGITAL. all the movie are not AVC. i use the newest HAALI media splitter and ffdshow (one of the newest tryouts). as the codec in MP i use nvidia pure video for video and ffdshow for audio. with this comination i can play back all my movies (.avi, .mkv) without problems.

only playing back mp4 (nero digital) i can´t see the OSD. i also can´t change the subtitles or the aspect ratio (with my MCE remote control or with my keyboard). i hope you can help me with this problem ...

thank you very much.

Hello,

I have the exact same problems when playing mp4 created with nero recode.
No OSD.
No chapter move.
No subtitle key...

Someone can help ?

Try this: Change the file extension to something else, for example to mv4 and then add that extension to MediaPortal Setup -> Movies -> Movie Extensions.

After that, you can see the OSD and the resume function works! Very strange but it is working...

hi,

i can´t change the extensions because my movies are on dvd+r and it would be really hard always to copy the movies to the harddrive --> change --> extension ... watch

i really don´t understand why the coders do not look into this problem.

thank you very much and bye

Hi,

I tried the extention trick... it works.

I rename a .mp4 in .tp4, added the extention to mediaportal.
No other manipulations in or outside mediaportal.

When playing the ".tp4", the ODS appear now when i move the mouse at bottom of the screen, i can switch subtitles with the remote.

Only chapters still don't work.
Using the up/down key moves big step into the movie but this does not correspond to chapters when i move then directly with haali.

So mediaportal does something wrong specialy for .mp4 extention.

Could this be corrected ? :D

    Hi,
Please have a look here for why this happens with .mp4 files with video & have to be so for now.

    Regards
