Hi,
When I attempt to open some DTV recordings with VideoReDo lately I am getting the message ".....No PIDs specified when trying to open a transport stream" This used to happen very little, but lately approximately 35% of files produce the message.
What is the solution please?

Does those same recordings playback correctly in MediaPortal?
Does for exaple ProjectX tell any errors in those recordings?
Are you using the latest version of VideoReDo?

Somewhere in the VideoRedo 'Tools>Options>Stream Parameters' settings is an option to 'Ignore Transport Stream Maps' which might enable it to open the files.

    Thanks tourettes and Owlsroost

Does those same recordings playback correctly in MediaPortal? YES
Does for exaple ProjectX tell any errors in those recordings? VARIOUS errors but all but one was able to be demuxed. I will sometimes use PX thanx for the tip
Are you using the latest version of VideoReDo? Yes

Owlsroost THANKYOU. When I installed VRD I had forgotten about that setting and not selected it after a complete XP install. It worked fine. I have to wonder why it is not on by default? I will ask the very helpful VRD site.

I am very pleased that I have solutions. Can anyone enlighten on the actual cause of the missing PIDs and is there anything I can do to prevent?

No clue, as if the PIDs (audio or video stream) were actually missing MP wouldn't able to play the file.
