MediaPortal Version: 0.2.3 final release
MediaPortal Skin: Xface 1.3
Windows Version: XP Pro
CPU Type: Core2Duo E6750
HDD: Seagate 500gb
Memory: 2GB DDR2 800
Motherboard: Shuttle
Motherboard Chipset: Intel G33
Video Card: Intel X3100
1. TV Card: Hauppauge HVR-4000
1. TV Card Type: DVB-S2+DVB-T+Analog
1. TV Card Driver: Latest
HTPC Case: Shuttle SG33G5M
TV: Samsung LE37M87
TV - HTPC Connection: HDMI

The thing is that in the final version, when I want to play a matroska file with DTS, there is no response from MediaPortal.

Here you could see the logs and errors.

On RC3 it works, so I don´t know why it fails playback in Final version.

Any Ideas???

Tank you a lot!!!:D :D :D

I think its because the mkv file you are trying to play has multiple embedded subtitles, and not that it has dts sound that causes the problem. Im not sure of this, but it sevral other posts on this forum indicates thats the problem.

Anyway I had exactly the same problem as you, and I had to enable embedded subtitles in ffdshow or install vsfilter and set haali to autoload it. The problem then was that I dont want to use embedded subtitles, bacause I only use external subtitles. So my solution was to install vsfilter(vobsub) and set haali to autoload vsfilter. Then under vsfilter settings disable autoloading of subtitles + uncheck load embedded subtitles in ffdshow.
So vsfilter is loading for no reason. (other than mediaportal actually plays them now)

i think i got a similar problem, trying to play a .mkv file with the following specs:
Image: 1920×800, x264, 23.976 fps, ~10850kbps
Audio: Russian DTS 5.1, 768 kbps English DTS 5.1, 1536 kbps

it works in windows mediaplayer but not within mediaportal(0.2.3).
i also have several other mkvs with only 1 audio track and they work fine.

edit:
for me the trick with installing vsfilter and enabling autoload in haali splitter worked.

I Also have problems with DTS Audio. It used to work in the past, but for some reason I have stuttering audio now on my analog PC-output... (MKV's by the way). Stil running RC1 though, so maybe I should try an update.

Edit: Hey I Fixed it by chaning the audio renderer to 'Directsound:Loudspeakers' instead of directly to the loudspeakers
